To maintain these products’ color, texture, freshness and quality, their packaging must be planned thoroughly, while taking into consideration how well it protects the product.
Fruit and Vegetables – When liquid or liquid condensation comes into contact with a food product, mold and fungi are caused, dramatically reducing shelf-life.
Fish, Poultry and Meat – These products tend to secrete a large amount of fluid when packed, and during shelf-life this can significantly reduce the product’s appeal.
To deal with these and in order to increase shelf-life and provide consumers with a product that is aesthetic and high in quality, Jolybar offers moisture-absorbing substrates to insert into packaging in direct contact with the food product.
The absorbent substrate locks in the liquids secreted by the food, leaving the product dry while keeping it fresh and appealing – just as it was when packed.
We offer a variety of moisture-absorbing substrates: for meat, poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables, and more.
Our substrates have a “one-sided” effect, where moisture is transferred to one side only, trapping the moisture in the substrate while keeping the product dry. Each type of substrate has a variety of absorbent rates: from 800 ml per square meter to 7 liters per square meters. Substrates are available in sheets or in rolls, in any size.
